Directions
30 slices bread (French loaf)
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/4 cup butter
5 eggs, beaten
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
8 tablespoons maple syrup
2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
10 tablespoon brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
200g pecan pieces
4 cups milk
1. In large bowl, whisk eggs, vanilla extract, maple syrup, milk, nutmeg, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt
2. Butter slices of bread and then cut in cubes
3. Pour melted butter evenly over 9x13 inch baking dish
4. Spread 2 tablespoon brown sugar at bottom of the baking dish
5. Pour pecan at bottom of the baking dish, about 70g
6. Add half of the cubed bread to the baking dish
7. Pour additional pecan over the cubed bread, about 70g
8. Add remaining half of the cubed bread to the baking dish
9. Pour remaining pecan over the cubed bread
10. Pour mixture over the bread
11. Lightly press the bread into the mixture with a fork until the bread is covered and soaking up the mixture
12. Let bread set for 30 minutes
13. Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit
14. Bake uncovered for 60 minutes
15. Serve the bread pudding warm with maple syrup
