Ingredients
Directions
1 cup cornmeal
1 tbsp. all purpose flour
7 cups water
2 dried cinnamon leaves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg powder
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tin (190 mL) condensed milk, sweeten to taste
2 tbsp. sugar (optional), sweeten to taste
1. Combine cornmeal, flour, salt and water in a pot, then whisk until smooth
2. Cover and cook cornmeal mixture, with cinnamon leaves, over medium heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent lumps
3. Stir in vanilla and nutmeg, and simmer for 20 more minutes
4. Sweeten with condensed milk and sugar
5. Serve hot
